Murphy Oil Corporation is undertaking an environmental improvement capital investment at its oil refinery in Superior, Wisconsin.

The project consists of two parts. The first is to reduce the benzene content of gasoline to meet federal environmental standards that take effect in 2011. The second is to remove additional sulfur from diesel fuel to meet federal specifications. Installation of reactors, heaters, distillation, towers and piping is to be complete by June 2010.
 
With completion of the project, the Superior refinery will be able to produce cleaner fuels.
 
The Superior refinery produces a full slate of conventional gasoline and distillate products that Murphy Oil USA markets in the North Central United States.
 
Capital cost: $50 million

Construction workers: 150 at peak
