The project addresses new Environmental Protection Agency rules dealing with interstate air quality, mercury reduction, and regional haze. Installing "Best Available Control Technology," eliminates nearly all Boswell 3 particulate matter emissions, reduces mercury emissions by up to 90 percent, and cuts nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide emissions by more than 80 percent.
